Power System Services is a specialist electrical engineering consultancy. The aim is to provide you with the technical, regulatory and commercial assistance to connect efficiently and economically to the national grid.

Power System Services can also assist you with complex technical investigations including: Harmonic analysis; Network modelling and analysis; Ground geophysical survey equipment certification.

Owner

Dr John Nielsen worked in Australia in the Queensland electricity industry for 15 years and was Principal Engineer Sub-transmission Planning & Investigation at Ergon Energy. He was a senior consultant at Hill Michael Associates and GHD for more than 5 years.

John lectured at JCU for more than 10 years across a diverse range of electrical engineering topics.

Qualified

Dr Nielsen is a Chartered Professional Engineer (Fellow of Engineers Australia No. 487859) and a Registered Professional Engineer in the Australian State of Queensland (No. 09456). He holds a doctorate in electrical engineering.

In Touch

John serves as the Engineers Australia representative on two Standards Australia Committees.

In 2014, he attended the IEEE Region 10 Power & Energy Society Chapter Chair Meeting and the Conference Innovative Smart Grid Asia 2014 in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia.
